my kids and i made these chocolate chip cookies this morning. i figured i'd show off our creation and give the recipe if anyone didn't have it, yes i know it's fairly common.

2 1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, margarine, or shortning
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup chopped nuts
1 12 ounce package semi sweet chocolate chips


preheat oven to 375 degrees. in a small bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt. set aside. in a large bowl combine butter, sugars, and vanilla. beat until creamy. beat in eggs. gradually add flour mixture, mix well. stir in chocolate chips and nuts. drop by heaping spoonfulls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges of cookies are starting to turn golden brown. cookies may still appear slightly moist on the tops. remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack (if you don't have one, you can use a clean torn up brown paper shopping bag). makes 5 dozen cookies.
